Kit: Garden Party

Beautiful silk ribbon blooms are showcased in this floral sampler of nine squares. Worked on an ivory silk dupion, the squares are outlined with a metallic gold thread. Kit: Autumn Harvest

Subtle shades of gold, olive green, brick, terracotta blend beautifully in this graceful spray of flowers and berries. This piece has a combination of roses, daisies and chrysanthemums worked in various widths of silk ribbon from 13mm down to 2mm. The berries and leaves are stitched with variegated silk thread, with fronds of soft sprays worked in a gold metallic thread. The size of the ivory silk dupion is 50cm ( 20" ) square. Kit: Beaded Scissor Keeper

We all need to identify our scissors, so having a personalized fob is the way to go! I designed this one to match the scissor case which has the same crystals and beads etc. Guipure lace is beaded onto the fabric, both front and back, before stitching the two sides together using a buttonhole stitch. Then three rows of beads are stitched around the edge to cover the stitching. A large diamante rondal & gold filigree ball, hang from the corner with a fringed tassel fitted into a gold filigree cone. The finished beaded fob is 4.5 cms square, the beaded tassel is 12 cms long. This piece could be handled by a beginner. Kit: Beaded Scissor Case

In real life, this project looks so much nicer than the photograph. It's not only practical for a small pair of embroidery scissors, but is very decorative which can be worn around the neck or just left on the table for people to admire. It's worked on a piece of guipure lace, placed on moiré taffeta, which is then lined with silk material. Gold cord is couched around the lace design before the front and back are heavily worked with Swarovski crystals and Czech beads which shine beautifully. The tassels are highlighted with 3 diamante rondall balls, filigree gold balls and crystal diamond cut drops. The necklace which hangs around the neck is alternated with beads, crystals and gold filigree balls. The case size is 13cms long, add the tassels which are 9 cms long, the width is 8 cms. The necklace will have to fit over your head, so this will vary with most people. This piece could be handled by a beginner but some experience would be helpful. My inspiration for this piece came from the Renaissance floral paintings, which usually have an abudance of flowers spilling from the vase. This is a large piece, which requires many hours of work, and is for the dedicated embroiderer.
